About Middle Beast
Middle Beast Cafe & Market is a Middle Eastern, Mexican, and Italian cafe, bakery, hookah lounge, and international market, on West College Street in Downtown Springfield, near Missouri State University.
A kitchen, a coffee pot, a backyard, and a pantry
The kitchen cooks Middle Eastern plates: chicken and lamb kabsa, mixed grill, shawarma, falafel, and hummus, with fresh pita and manakeesh from the oven. It also cooks Mexican favorites: Sancho, California, and Azada burritos, the Azada torta, Azada tacos, and a taco platter. And Italian ones: pizza from the oven, chicken or shrimp alfredo, and spaghetti with meat sauce. Breakfast and brunch run whenever we're open.
Turkish coffee is brewed in hot sand. Arabic coffee comes in a dallah, scented with cardamom. Adeni karak tea arrives by the cup or the pot, next to basbousa, crepes, and beehive bread.
Inside, red walls and patterned banquettes. Out back, wooden cabanas under string lights, with hookah for guests 21+. Next door, the market stocks the spices and staples to cook it all at home.
